Two pizzas were cut into sixths. Ashraf, Drew, and Katie shared the pizzas equally. How many sixths did each friend get?

Answers

each person gets 4 pieces because
6x2=12
and
 12/3=4
Hope it helps
We can form an equation by taking the important numbers.
There are two pizzas that are cut into six pieces. There are three people. They are all sharing all of the pizza.
2 pizzas × 6 slices each = 12 slices
12 slices ÷ 3 people = 4 slices per person.
Ashdraf, Drew, and Katie will each get 4 slices of pizza from the 12 slices of pizza.

Is the underlined participial phrase correctly placed or misplaced? Luis noticed many fallen branches strolling through the park. A. misplaced participial phrase B. correctly placed participial phrase

Answers

The correct answer is A. It is misplaced because it creates an ambiguous sentence, we are not sure what the real meaning of the sentence is. Did Luis notice many fallen branches which were strolling through the park? Or did he notice them while he was strolling? By moving the participle at the beginning of the sentence (Strolling through the park, Luis noticed many fallen branches) we will avoid confusion.

A run-on sentence is a sentence that has at least two independent clauses which are not properly punctuated.

When two independent clauses are connected only by a comma, it is a run-on sentence that is called a comma-splice.

Run-on sentences can be corrected with the use of conjunctions (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so)

Snails move very slowly, and a banana slug can move 6 inches in two hours. (corrected run-on sentence)
