permutations 2.4 statistics answers A clothing store has a certain shirt in 4 sizes: small, medium, large, and extra large. If it has 2 small, 3 medium, 6 large, and 2 extra large in stock, in how many orders can it sell all the shirts?

Answer 1
Answer:

Answer: 360,360

Step-by-step explanation:

The number of permutations of n things of which a are identical, b are identical and so on... :-

(n!)/(a!\ b!....)

Given :  A clothing store has a certain shirt in 4 sizes: small, medium, large, and extra large.

If it has 2 small, 3 medium, 6 large, and 2 extra large in stock, then total shirts : 2+3+6+2=13

Then, the number of orders in which the store can sell all the t-shirts will be :_

(13!)/(2!3!6!2!)\n\n=(13*12*11*10*9*8*7*6!)/(2*3*2*6!*2)\n\n=360360

Hence, the number of orders in which the store can sell all the t-shirts  = 360,360

What three even numbers add up to 54

Answers

The way I like to do these is like this ... without algebra:

-- If the 54 were split up into three equal pieces,
each piece would be 1/3 of 54 = 18 .

-- Can you take three equal size-18 pieces and change them in
such a way that they're all different but their sum doesn't change,
and they still add up to 54 ?

-- How about like this:
Take 2 away from one piece and glue it onto a different one.
Now they still make the same 54 when you put them all into the same pot.
But now they're all different ... instead of 18, 18, 18, now you have 16, 18, 20.

Look ma !  No algebra !

x = lowest
x+2 = middle
x+4 = largest

x +      x+2 +    x + 4 = 54

Combine like terms to get 3x + 6 = 54
Subtract 6 (both sides)           -6     -6
                                       3x = 48
divide by 3 (both sides)     3       3

x = 16 (smallest even number)   x+2 = 18 (middle even number and x+4 = 20 (largest even number)   Add them up 16+18+ 20 and sure enough, you get 54

multiplication or division whichever comes first
addition or subtraction whichever comes first

parenthases first
inner to outer
left to right
treat a/b as (a)/(b) so simplify the fraction top and bottom as much as possible
the parenthaseese we have to simplify are
(20-5^2), (16+2^2), (3*2^2)

(20-5^2)
exponents first
5^2=25
now we have
(20-25)
subtract
20-25=-5
other parenthasees

16+2^2
exponent,
2^2=4
16+4=20

next
3*2^2
exponent
2^2=4
3*4=12

so the equaiton we have now is
((-5)(20))/(-2^(3)+(12))

exponents
-2^3 =-1 times 2^3
exponent first
2^3=8
-1 times 8=-8

now we hav
((-5)(20))/(-8+(12))
treat the numberator and denomenator as if they are in parenthasees so try to simplify them next
(-5)(20)=-100
-8+12=4

now we have
(-100)/(4)
division
-100/4=-25

Write the equation of the line that passes through (5, 6) and (8, 4) in slope-intercept form.

Answers

The equation the line is y = -2x/3 + 28/3

Given that are two points we need to find the equation of a line passing through it,

(5, 6) and (8, 4)

We know that an equation of line passing through two points (x₁, y₁) and (x₂, y₂) is given by =

y - y₁ = y₂-y₁ / x₂-x₁ (x-x₁)

Here (x₁, y₁) and (x₂, y₂) = (5, 6) and (8, 4)

y - 6 = 4-6 / 8-5 (x-5)

y - 6 = -2/3 (x-5)

y = -2/3 (x-5) + 6

y = -2x/3 + 10/3 + 6

y = -2x/3 + 28/3

Hence the equation the line is y = -2x/3 + 28/3
