A punch recipe calls for orange juice and pop in the ratio of 2:5 the recipe requires 1L of Pop to serve 7 people a) how much orange juice is needed for 7 people?
b)about how much orange juice and pop do you need to serve 15 people? 20 people?
plz say how you answered this

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

O : P => 2 : 5

(a)    1 liter of pop to serve 7 people

=>           5 units = 1

               1 unit = 1 / 5

Orange juice => 2 units

Hence, Orange juice needed is 2 * 1 / 5 = 0.4 liters

(b)    If 1 liter of pop is needed to serve 7 people, then we will need (1 / 7) * 15 for 15 people

i.e. 2.14 liters

As the ratio of O : P = 2 : 5,

               5 units = 2.14

               1 units = 2.14 / 5

For Orange juice, we will need 2 * 2.14 / 5 = 0.856 liters for 15 people

A flagpole is 53 feet tall. A rope is tied to the top of the flagpole and secured to the ground 28 feet from the base of the flagpole. What is the length of the rope? PLEASE HELP I GIVE THANKS!!!!!!!!

Answers

The length of the rope is 60 feet.

Given that, a flagpole is 53 feet tall. A rope is tied to the top of the flagpole and secured to the ground 28 feet from the base of the flagpole.

What is Pythagoras theorem?

The Pythagoras theorem which is also referred to as the Pythagoreantheorem explains the relationship between the three sides of a right-angled triangle. According to the Pythagoras theorem, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides of a triangle.

Let the length of the rope be x.

Now, x²=53²+28²

⇒x²=2,809+784

⇒x=59.94≈60

Therefore, the length of the rope is 60 feet.

So Pythagorean theorem, I assume.
remember: a^(2) +  b^(2) =  c^(2)
The a and b seems to be 53 and 28 (the order doesn't really matter)
so, 53^(2) + 28^(2) = c^(2)
OR \sqrt{53^(2) + 28^(2) } = c

Calculator time!
√(2809 + 784)
√(3593) = c
59.94 ≈ c
Therefore, the rope is approximately 59.94 feet long.

As the train’s engineer, Erin guided the train on a 64 mi run, which took 1.7 h. She then stopped on a side rail to let a second train pass. She then continued another 80 mi, which took 1.9 h.What was the train’s average speed for the entire run?

Answers

(144 miles)/(3.6 hours)= 40 (m)/(h)Let's calculate how many miles the train has passed in total:
64+80=144 miles

let's also calculate the complete time: (we can ignore the waiting time here, since they also didn't move during this time:

1.7h+1.9h=3.6 hours.

And now we only need to divide the distance per time:

So the correct answer is 40 miles per hour!
