Why did pontiac lead a rebellion against the British following the french and indian war?

Answers

Pontiac lead a rebellion against british following the french and indian war because the british created several policies that offended the tribes, because they keep taking the tribe's land and power, causing them to feel dishonored by the colonies

Answer:

Pontiac was Ottawa war chief and is famous for leading the Native Americans in a struggle against the British occupation of the great lakes region from 1763 to 1766. Historians consider him to be a local leader who influenced movement but did not command it.

The native Americans of the Great lake region had trading relationships with France. With the defeat of French in French and Indian war the land previously under the french came under British control and the native Indians allied to prevent Great Britain from occupying the lands. The rebellion was known as Pontiac's rebellion. There were various reasons why Indians rebelled against British. The french treated the tribes with respect and honor, while the British considered themselves to be superior and behaved badly. The tribes also mistrusted the British as it allowed the white settlement in their lands.

Although the rebellion was unsuccessful, it leads to the Royal Proclamation Act of 1763,  which established a boundary known as Proclamation Line. The act was meant to calm the Fear of Native Indians caused by the westward expansion of the Colonialists for the fur trade.
