find the volume of the composite figure. please! - 1

Answer 1
Answer: the volume is 300 inches cubed, first I split the figure into three, the volume=L×W×H, for the first box I did 4×4×5=80, the second box I did 6×6×5=180, the third box I did 2×4×5=40, therefore 80+180+40=300 therefore the answer being 300 inches cubed

What is the HCF of 2 x y and 6 x y?

Answers

(2 x y) is a factor of (6 x y), so it's the highest common factor of both expressions.
3y is the ans to your question

I got another problem on substitution on linear equations... I'm very confused. How do I know which one to start? How do I know what to do? Is there any simple explanations? x -2y =5
3x - 5y =8

Can you help me do this in the simplest way please? I'm kinda struggling to get this concept down... :(

Answers

Don't worry, you just have to get used to these problems! You can do it girl!!

So, it doesn't matter where you start. I would start finding the x in the first equation, like this:

x - 2y = 5
x = 5 - 2y

Which is really easy, isn't it?
Now you know that x is equal to 5 - 2y, so you can substitute the x in the second equation. (You could have done the same solving by y, it doesn't matter :D )

3 ( 5 - 2y ) - 5y = 8

15 - 6y - 5y = 8

- 6y - 5y = 8 - 15

-11y = -7

y = -7/-11 = 7/11

Now you found your y! Let's substitute it in the first equation. (The beginner one, not the one that you worked on)

x - 2 (7/11) = 5

x - 14/11 = 5

x = 5 + 14/11

x = 69/11

I know you got it now! ;) Otherwise ask me whatever you want!

A volume of the triangular block is 4 cubic inches, what is the approximate length of y? Round to the nearest tenth of an inch

Answers

Answer:

2.8 inches will be the approximate length of the y.

Step-by-step explanation:

volume = 1/2 x A x C x H = 4 cubic inches

Because the volume of the triangular block is 4 cubic inches.

Formula:

A x C = Base x Height

Answer:

2.8 in

Explain how you would construct a perpendicular bisector of WX using a compass and a straightedge. (31 points guys)

Answers

Answer:

To construct perpendicular bisector of line segment WX. There are following steps:

  • Construct arcs or circles from points A and B on the both endpoints of line segment WX.
  • Mark the intersection points of circles as A and B.
  • Use the straightedge to draw a line through points W and X.
  • Mark the intersection point on WX point as O

Hence we have constructed perpendicular bisector AB of WX which bisects at O.
