What are the two numbers and how did you figure - 1

Answer 1
Answer: do those 2 equaiton you did
minus x on top

y=10-x
sub for y
x(10-x)=12
distribute
10x-x^2=12
minus (10x-x^2) both sides
0=x^2-10x+12

use quadratic formula
in form
ax^2+bx+c=0
x=\frac{-b+/- \sqrt{b^(2)-4ac} }{2a}

a=1
b=-10
c=12
x=\frac{-(-10)+/- \sqrt{(-10)^(2)-4(1)(12)} }{2(1)}
x=(10+/- √(100-48) )/(2)
x=(10+/- √(52) )/(2)
x=(10+/- 2√(13) )/(2)
x=5+/- √(13)

x=(5+ 2√(13) )/(2) or (5- 2√(13) )/(2)

aprox

x=1.39445 or 8.60555
those are the 2 numbers since x and y can switch
Answer 2
Answer: I would make a list of the factors of 12. 1 and 12; 2 and 6; 3 and 4. However none of these add to 10. I would talk to a teacher about this one, since none of the answers are apparent at the moment. I will keep working.

[Note: ^2 is squared. i just find it quicker to type out]

2x^2 + x - 3 = 0
First get rid of -3 by adding 3 to both sides.
2x^2 + x = +3
Then get rid of x by subtracting x from both sides
2x^2 = 3 - x
Now square root (√) both sides to get rid of the square (^2). This leaves 2x by itself.
2x = √(3 - x)
Finally, divide both sides by 2 so x can be by itself.
x = √(3 - x)/2

5x^2 + 3x =2
Similar to question the 1st question. Get rid of -3x because its smaller than 5x^2
5x^2 = 2 + 3x
Now get rid of the square by sq rooting both sides
5x = √(2 -3x)
This time you divide both sides by 5
x = √(2 - 3x)/5

x^2 - 5x = 0
+5x to both sides
x^2 = 5x
sq root both sides to remove ^2
x = √(5x)
I think this part is optional since you've already got x by itself, but you could divde both sidee by 5 so its not 5x
x/5 = √x

Jordan flipped a coin 492 times. Which of the following would be a good estimate of the number of times the coin landed on heads? A.171 B.231 C.346 D.442

Answers

I'd say B. but that's only because I divided the number of times he flipped the coin by the number of sides it has, 2, and came up with 246. The closest number on here to that is 231 or B. I hope I helped.
2 sides to a coin
1/2 of them is heads
therefor 1/2 of total is heads
492 times 1/2=246

the closest one is B

Write 2 equivqlent fractions for 4/5

Answers

you can multiply the fraction by any number you want so the new fraction gonna be equivalent to your fraction like : (4 × 2)/(5 × 2) = 8/10 or  (4 × 3) / ( 5×3) = 12/15 so 4/5 = 8/10 = 12/15 :))
i hope this be helpful

8/10 and 12/15 are equal to 4/5

An art gallery has 18 paintings and 4 photographs displayed in equal rows on a wall, with the same number of each type of art in each row. What could be the number of rows??

Answers

The paintings and photographs can be sorted into rows of two.18/2=9, so there would be 9 rows each with two paintings. 4/2=2, so there would be 2 rows with 4 photos. 9+2=11 rows in all :)

over the course of 4 days the price of stock at ACME corporation fell $28. what was the average change in stock price per day?

Answers

For this case, what we must do is divide the total price of the shares that fell between the number of days.

We have then:

R =(28)/(4)

Making the corresponding calculation we have:

R = 7(Dollars)/(Day)

Therefore, the daily rate of change is $ 7 per day.

Answer:

the average change in stock price per day is $ 7 per day.

You have to divide 28 by 4.
so the answer is: $7 per day
