. A person rides his bicycle several miles. What process is used by the cells in his legs to release energy at the beginning of the ride and at the end what cause the pain in his legs

Answers

Answer:

At the beginning, aerobic respiration is used by his legs to generate energy when there was still sufficient oxygen intake for energy to be generated via oxidative phosphorylation.

Towards the end of the ride, his legs are generating energy through anaerobic respiration due to insufficient oxygen intake to keep up with the energy requirement of his muscles as he cycles continuously. Through anaerobic respiration, pyruvate from glycolysis is converted to lactate by lactate dehydrogenase instead of being channelled to the mitochondria for oxidative phosphorylation. The accumulation of lactate in his muscles is what causes the pain in his leg. After he stops the activity, the pain would reduce as lactate is transported to the liver to be reconverted back into pyruvate.

What behavioral adaptations help snakes survive in hot dry places

Answers

Snakes have several behavioural adaptations that help them to survive in hot and dry places. One behaviour that a snake does is to make their head appear larger by spreading it apart. They will also roll over on their back to appear to have a seizure/convulsion to scare away predators. To survive in hot/dry places such as the desert, a snake will use thermoregulation. They do this by laying in the sun at optimal times such as late afternoon, midday, and sometimes early morning. This helps them to avoid the extreme temps. Many snakes can also make themselves blend into the environment around them and look like the surrounding landscape. Snakes have also evolved so that they won't need much hydration in the desert. They will get the water they need from the prey they eat.

Explain what causes seasons?

Answers

Answer:

The seasons are due to the fact that the earth's axis doesn`t remain vertical. This one stays tilted. The translation movement also influences

Explanation:

The inclination of the earth has two important effects.:

1. Each region of the earth receives different amounts of light throughout the year.

2.according to the seasons the days and nights have different duration.

This inclination is preserved throughout the year. Is summer in the hemisphere that is tilted toward the Sun and winter in the hemisphere that is tilted away from the Sun

The seasons are caused by the tilt of the Earth's rotational axis away or toward the sun as it travels through its year-long path around the sun. The Earth has a tilt of 23.5 degrees relative to the "ecliptic plane" (the imaginary surface formed by it's almost-cicular path around the sun).
