Minority groups rallied behind the slogan Double V.(a)

Further Explanations:

Double V was the slogan that that dived to promote the combat for democracy in overseas campaigns and home front of the United States during the Second World War. V was denoting the victory that the nations achieved against slavery, aggression, and tyranny while the second v denotes the dual victory of African Americans both in the nation and overseas. Journal about the campaign was firstly published by an African American newspaper “Pittsburgh Courier” on 7th February 1942 highlighting the risks taken by the black soldiers and civilians in the American’s struggle against the Axis power. In spite of their service, they were not granted their full rights. After returning from the war they were still being segregated within the forces despite fighting with the same efficiency.

Victory on home was based on the motive of obtaining equal status for the minority’s group such as African Americans residing in the United States. These minorities were still segregated and were facing racism in the southern regions of America where separate facilities were existing  for the native and the blacks.

3.What current events are causing some states to talk about seceding from the Union again?
4.Do those current events compare in any way to the events in the 1800s? Explain your answer.

(Please answer all of them)

Answers

I think for number one their aren't any events that didn't help their was the civil war, slavery, and tariffs they all made the south want to secede from the north side states. The answer to the second question would be lincolns election. For Number 3 it would likely be because of obama's Re-Election though its not as recent as this year but still. For number 4 in a sense I think they sort of do and dont at the same time. It is still about race but not about slavery, though the south was really jealous because they didn't want to let go of their slaves yet the north seemed to be prospering and their slaves where free. They had a problem with the president later down the road when lincoln was elected as they have a problem with obama being elected when he was first elected in 2008.  And the tariffs which are now considered taxes and business taxes are still a problem now. Nobody really likes the thought of having to pay for their business being good or not prospering.

By closing Japanese harbors to most foreigners in the 1600's the Tokugawa shogunate attempted to (1) protect Japan from European influence. At the time of the Tokugawa shogunate, there was a high sentiment of nationalism and isolationism. Having been isolated not only geographically wise, Japan wanted to isolate itself from foreigners who it found greedy and outside of their social hierarchy and wanted to retain its culture.
