There were many challenges of western immigration in the US. Despite how much it's romanticized in modern times. :(
The prevalent problems the pioneers heading west faced were ones concerning exposure, starvation, sickness and dangerous environments.
Oxen often died of thirst, the wagons were often overloaded and infections and sicknesses were very common. In addition to the above, the trails westwards were poorly marked, causing travellers to lose their way. One such instance was the infamous Donner Party, who followed an unreliable guide west and were so hopelessly lost that they became stranded in the Sierra mountains, where many died at the hands of their fellow travellers.
There were also the financial problems. Oxen and wagons were expensive, and in order to afford it, families had to leave behind friends, family, businesses and belongings in the hopes of new opportunity in the west.
Good luck in your studies!
cheap land
publicly financed roads
strong army and navy
Answer:
the best and most correct answer among the choices provided is "cheap land" and "publicly financed roads"
Explanation:
The settlers of the West favored a government policy that made land available on easy terms. As a farming area, the West required a market for its surplus products. The West wanted roads built and internal improvements made by the national government. The North and South were opposed to this idea. The North feared that if land was sold cheaply and on credit, and roads were built to open up the West, many of the factory workers would move to the West to try to improve their living conditions. If the workers were to leave the North, the factory machines would be without operators, and Northern industry would suffer. The South opposed the national government building roads in the West because the South thought the roads were unnecessary. The South traded with Europe, not with the West; therefore, the South did not want to pay any money for roads and other improvements that would not benefit the South.

Answer:
B descartes
Explanation:
French philosopher Descartes stressed the use of mathematics for the safest way to gain truth.
He saw mathematics as a pure science and he is most known for his works in starting analytical geometry. He did so by using algebra and its principles to study Geometry.
His legacy remains in that, the use of the coordinate plane is also called on his name the Cartesian plane.
Analytical geometry is basically applying algebra to geometry.
The link between algebra and geometry enabled a better understanding of the areas of Calculus and analysis in Math.
Most known of his "cogio ergo sum", Descartes died at the age of 53 while he was in Sweden developing an academy of science.
