What is special about nitrogen, and what is its main function in the atmosphere

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: the important thing about Nitrogen is that it provides air for humans to breathe in, 78% of the air we breathe in is Nitrogen and only 21% is oxygen, 1% is other gases. If the air was pure oxygen then everything would be extremely flammable, and it would also be harmful to humans. Nitrogen plays a very important role in our lives. Oxygen can be poisonous if it was the only gas in the air... we would initially all die if nitrogen wasn't in our atmosphere

A typical carbon atom has six protons, six neutrons, and six electrons. Which of these has the least amount of mass?A) one Proton
B) one Neutron
C) six Electrons
D) These masses are too tiny to measure

Answers

Answer:

C

Explanation:

Answer:

six electrons

Explanation:

Electrons have almost virtually no mass and much less than a proton and neutron.

(a neutron and electron have about 1 amu while electrons have 0.000548 amu)

What are the components of clean air?

Answers

Using information I've learned doing GCSE core science, the air should contain:

78% Nitrogen (N2)
21% Oxygen (02)
0.035% Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
Fluctuating proportions of noble gases (such as argon) and water vapour

There are also trace amounts of many other gases.
In clean air there are 5 elements present.
Argon
Carbon Dioxide
Nitrogen
Oxygen
and Hydrogen
Hope this helps! :)

Answers

Coal, oil, and natural gas C) release carbon dioxide when they are burned. They are non-renewable resources, but they are in large supply to consumers, and they are also NOT clean fuels and contribute greatly to pollution.

answer- release carbon dioxide when burned

coal, oil, and natural gas release carbon dioxide when they are burned and definitely contribute to air pollution.

Which variables can affect the speed of a chemical reaction? (Choose all that apply)A.) Addition of inhibitor

B.) Change in concentration of reactant

C.) Temperature

D.) Particle size

Answers

The variables which can affect the speed of a chemical reaction are inihibitor, concentration, temperature and particle size.

What is the speed of reaction?

Speed of any reaction also known as rate of reaction and it gives idea about the duration that at how much time it will complete.

  • Addition of inhibitor slows down the speed of the reaction as inhibitor blocks the activity of the reactants.
  • Change in concentration of reactant also chnages the speed of the reaction because it completely depends on the reactant concentration.
  • Temperature changes also affect the speed of the reaction as it changes the kinetic property of the reaction.
  • Particle size provides the surface area to get react so changes in this property will also changes the speed of the reaction.

Hence all of the above will changes the speed of the reaction.
