a rectangle has an area of 30 square meters and a perimeter of 34 meters what are the dimensions of the rectangle

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: (length)(width) = 30
2(length) + 2(width) = 34

Start by finding factor pairs of 30: (1 and 30), (2 and 15), (3 and 10), (5 and 6). Now figure out which of these pairs solve the second equation above.

Logically you could eliminate the first one (because 2 x 30 is greater than 34 alone), so move on to the second.

2(2) + 2(15) = 34
4 + 30 = 34
34 = 34

Therefore the dimensions are 2 x 15

-- Look at the places where the line crosses the 'x' axis and the 'y' axis.
   Between those two points, it goes forward 2 units, but only rises 1 unit.
   So the slope of the line is  1/2 .

-- Look again at the point where the line crosses the y-axis.
   At that point, y=1 .
   That's the "y-intercept".

Now you have the slope and y-intercept of the line.

The equation of ANY straight line is

                         y = (slope)x + (y-intercept) .

You know what they both are, so you can easily write

                         y = 1/2 x + 1 .

Is that one of the choices ?
Yes it is.

That must be the correct one.

What is (-14)+(-6)+6 can you explain and add me

Answers

With negative numbers you have to think of them on a number line... 0 in the middle, if you have a positive number you go right on the number line. If you have a negative number you go left.

So, for example...
(-14) + (-6)

you are starting at -14 on the number line then adding a negative 6, so you go 6 more places to the left on the number line and now you are at -20.

then -20 + 6

Now you start at -20 and add 6 so you move 6 places to the right on the number line, so you are back to -14.

(-14) + (-6) + 6=
-20 + 6 =
-14
(-14)+(-6)+6=-14
because all you have to do is add them all up.

Jeffrey needs 2.5 cups of oatmeal and 4.5 cups of water for his recipe. Which statement best describes how much of each ingredient Jeffrey needs to measure?

A.
Jeffrey should measure 2.5 cups of oatmeal and 4.5 cups of water so he has the correct amounts of each ingredient.

B.
Jeffrey should measure 5 cups of water and 2 cup of oatmeal since that makes a total of 7 cups of ingredients.

C.
Jeffrey should make it easy and just measure a total of 7 cups of water and oatmeal since it all gets mixed up in the recipe anyway.
