The enslaved Africans were of great importance for the colonies. They contributed to the economic growth of the metropoles and greatly influenced the colonies, as well. These people were brought from Africa to America, against their will, crammed into ships and forced to live in terrible conditions. When they arrived in the colonies, they introduced new crops, a new language, a different style of music, and shared their African culture and cuisine.
