Given the Function:f(x) = -2e^x find f(x), if x=3
So far what I manage to grasp with this equation is
replacing the "x" with 3 So: f(3)= -2e^(3)
The answer ( using the scientific calculator) gave me -6
I have no Idea what are the other steps to this equation.

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: f(x)=-2e^x
x=3
f(3)=-2e^3
pemdas so exponents first
e^3
e=2.718281828454590
cube that
20.0855

now we have
-2 times 20.0855=-40.1711

answer should be -40.1711
(I see what you did wrong, if -6=-2 times e^3, divide -2, 3=e^3, maybe you just put -2 times 3 by mistake)
Answer 2
Answer: okay e^3 is 20.08553692 x -2 = 4.017107385
maybe you had your calculator on the wrong mode or entered it wrong

Need help with a problem. For some reason I can not seem to get it correct. Thinking my formula is wrong. Here's the problem:Assume that there are approximately 140x10^9 stars in our galaxy.Our galaxy is 50,000 light years from the center to the edge, but just 1,000 light years thick. It's shaped like a thin disk or cylinder. If the stars were distributed equally throughout the galaxy, how many stars would you expect to find in one cubic light year?I thought it would be Pi*r^2*l. Then divide that by the number of stars. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, been 20 years since I had to do math like this!

So the said problem asking to explain or justify why the initial value of any function of the form f(x) = a(bx) is equal to a. For me I won't agree with the said question, the said function is determine through the value of X because it is the undefined value in the equation that is needed to be define. Manny's cleaning supply store receives a mixture of 80% detergent and 20% water in 15-gallon buckets. Manny would like a mixture of 60 detergent and 40% water in a 5 gallon buckets. To make this he combined some 80/20 mixture with some pure water in each 5 gallon bucket. How much gallons of pure water does Manny add to each 5 gallon bucket.

Answers

Answer:

1.67 gallons

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Original mixture contains 80% detergent and 20% water in a 15 gallon bucket.

New Mixture to contain 60% detergent and 40% water of 5 gallon bucket.

To find:

Volume of Pure water to be added to each 5 gallon bucket to obtain the new mixture.

Solution:

First of all, let us calculate the answer by adding pure water to 15 gallon bucket.

Let the number of gallon of water to be added = x

New volume = (15+x) gallons

Now, let us compare the number of gallons of water in the mixture before and after.

15* 20\% + x = (15+x)* 40\%\n\Rightarrow (3+x)* 5 = (15+x)* 2\n\Rightarrow 15+5x=30+2x\n\Rightarrow 3x=15\n\Rightarrow x =5\ gallons

Therefore, to a 15 gallon bucket (80% detergent and 20% water)of detergent mixture, if we add 5 gallons of pure water , it will become 60% detergent and 40% water.

To a 5 gallon bucket, the number of gallons of water to be added = (5)/(3) =\bold{1.67\ gallons}

Simplify: a^2b^2c^2(2ab+3ac+2bc)

Answers

We can do this like so:

a^{ 2b^{ 2c^(2) } }a^(8bc)

 a^(8bc) * 2ab = 2ba^(16bc)
a^(8bc) * 3ac =  2ca^(16bc)
a^(8bc) * 2bc =  2bca^(8bc)

20=8+v i dont know how to do this

Answers

20 = 8 + v equals v = 12.

First,  subtract 8 from both sides. Your problem should look like: 20 - 8 = v
Second,  simplify 20 - 8 to get 12. Your problem should look like: 12 = v.
Third, switch sides to get v = 12, which is the correct answer.

You subtract 8 from both sides so the answer is v=12
