A backpack that normally sells for $39 is on sale for 33% off. Find the amount of the discount and the sale price.

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: 1. 33% = 0.33
$39 x 0.33 = $12.87
$39 - $12.87 = $26.13

Discount: $12.87
Sale price: $26.13
Answer 2
Answer: First find 10%
10% of $39 = $3.90
so...
30% of $39 = $11.70
This is because 30% is 10% multiplied by 3. So you just have to multiply 3.90 by 3.
Then you would work out 1%
1% of $39 = $0.39
so...
3% of $39 = $1.17
This follows the same principle as before.
Now you have to add them together to get the discount price.
11.70 + 1.17 = $12.87

To get the price after the discount, simply take the discount price away from the usual price:
39 - 12.87 = $26.13

Therefore the two answers to your questions are..
$12.87
and..
$26.13
Hope this helped :)

I think its 2 because if you divide 20,000 over 1000 you get 2. If you do that for the other values, you would also get 2.

ok so it's simple this is the way i learned it.
     ____
32 |672  first see how many times 32 goes into 6 which is 0 so put a 0 above 6

     _0___
32 |672   now you take the remainder from the last one which is 6 and combine it with the 7 so then you see how many times how many times 32 goes into 67 which is 2 so put a 2 over it.
     _02__
32 |672    next once again take the remainder which is 1 and combine it with the next number which is 2 to make 12 then find out how many times that goes into 32

you basically do that till you get a number without a remainder and when you run out of numbers just put a decimal and zeros after it
