Can someone help me with these problems? I know the formulas but don't know how to apply it? I'm not that good with word problems. I wrote the answers in a separate sheet just want to compare with someone please!( not to be mean but can S27111855 stop replying your not a big help!)

Answer 1
Answer: ok so you know that
V=LWH
basically
volume=height times base area

so
2. V=3 times 8 times 12=288 cm^3

3. triangular prism is 1/2 of the volume of a similar rectangular prism with same measure so
V=1/2 times 4 times 10 times 15=300 cm^3

4. trapezoid base area=area of a trapezoid=(base1+base2)/2 times height so
baseaea=(4+10)/2 times 6=7 times 6=42, then basearea times height=42 times 10=420cm^3

5. cylinder area=base area times height
base=circle=pir^2
r=1/2diameter
6/2=3
base=pi3^2=9pi
area=9pi times 12=108pi cm^3

6. 24pi=4 times pir^2
divide by 4
6pi=pir^2
divd e pi
6=r^2
√6 cm=r

7. square pyramid volume=1/3 volume of similar rectangular prism so
square means base=4 times 4=16
height=9
rectangular volume=16 times 9
pyramid voluume=1/3 times 16 times 9=48 cm^3

8. solve for base side
use pythagorean theorem
slant height=hyposonuse=13
base edge=2 times of 1 of the legs so 10/2=5
so
5^2+x^2=13^2
25+x^2=169
x^2=144
x=12
height of pyramid=12
volume=1/3 times 10 times 10 times 12 times=400 cm^3

What set of reflections would carry triangle ABC onto itself? triangle ABC on the coordinate plane with point A at 1, 2, point B at 2, 4, and point C at 3, 0.

Answers

Your answer is Y-axis, X-axis, Y-axis, X-axis.
The A y-axis , B y-axis and C would also be reflected over the Y-axis. When you think about the coordinates on a graph, and with that also being said there all positive.

Answer:

y-axis,  x-axis , y-axis and x-axis

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : In triangle ABC

The coordinates are

A = (1,2) , B=(2,4) and C =(3,0)

Rule of reflection:

*Reflecting a point (x, y) across the y-axis will map it to (-x, y).

*Reflecting a point (x, y) across the x-axis will map it to (x, -y).

If you do a reflection on coordinate point A = (1,2)  across y-axis we get (-1 ,2)

then, reflecting a point (-1 , 2) across x -axis we get, (-1, -2)

then, reflecting a point (-1 , -2) across y-axis we get, (1 , -2)

and

reflecting a point (1, -2) across x- axis we get the result same i.e, A =(1,2)

Similarly,

For B = (2,4) across y-axis \rightarrow (-2, 4) across x- axis \rightarrow  (-2, -4) across y -axis \rightarrow (2 , -4) across x axis \rightarrow  ( 2, 4) = B

for C = (3, 0) across y-axis \rightarrow (-3, 0) across x- axis \rightarrow  (-3, 0) across y -axis \rightarrow (3 , 0) across x axis \rightarrow  (3, 0) = C

Therefore, the set of reflection would carry triangle ABC onto itself is:

y-axis,  x-axis , y-axis and x-axis

The two legs (shorter sides ) if a right angle triangle have lengths of 15 cm and 8 cm respectively. Determine the length of the largest third side (to the nearest cm).

Answers

By Pythagoras theorem,
h^2=a^2+o^2
Longest side is the same as the hypotenuse (h)
h^2=8^2+15^2
h^2=64+225
h^2=289
Square root both sides
h=17 cm

At a school supply store, binders cost $5 and pencil pouches cost $2. In one day, 42 of these items are sold for total sales of $144. Which system represents this (b represents binders and p represents pencil pouches), and how many binders were sold?

Answers

Answer:

Part 1) The system of equations that represent this situation is equal to

b+p=42  and 5b+2p=144

Part 2) 20 binders were sold

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

b -----> the number of binders sold

p -----> the number of pencil pouches sold

Part 1)

we know that

The system of equations that represent this situation is equal to

b+p=42

5b+2p=144

Part 2) How many binders were sold?

we have

b+p=42

p=42-b ------> equation A

5b+2p=144 -----> equation B

substitute equation A in equation B

5b+2(42-b)=144

5b+84-2b=144

3b=144-84

3b=60

b=20 binders
