What role did John foster Dulles play in Eisenhower administration

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Answer:  Secretary of State

Further context/detail:

The office of Secretary of State is the USA's cabinet-level official in charge of foreign relations and foreign policy.  In other countries, a similar position would be called "Minister of Foreign Affairs."

John Foster Dulles was Secretary of State under President Eisenhower.  He held the office from 1953 to 1959.  He wanted a change from what had been the "containment policy" which the US had followed during the Truman Administration, as recommended then by American diplomat George F. Kennan.   Dulles felt the containment approach put the United States in a weak position, because it only was reactive, trying to contain  communist aggression when it occurred.

Dulles sought to push America's policy in a more active direction; some have labeled his approach "brinksmanship."  In an article in LIFE magazine in 1956, Dulles said, "The ability to get to the verge without getting into the war is the necessary art."  He wasn't afraid to threaten massive retaliation against communist enemy countries as a way of intimidating them.

Answer 2
Answer: Dulles was Eisenhower's Secretary of State, which is someone who represents the United States to other foreign countries. He advocated an aggressive stance against Communism, and absolutely despised the idea of it. He also advocated for heavy reparations against Germany after World War 1.

The first nation to build its economy on capitalism was _____. the United States England France the Netherlands

Answers

The first nation to build its economy on capitalism was the Netherlands, since it was in fact the Dutch who created the first stock company, in which people could buy shares of companies.

The correct option is "The Netherlands"

In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, Holland was the cradle of commercial capitalism and modern science, and was the homeland of Grotius, Spinoza, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Huygens and Sawammerdam, among many other geniuses who lived in Amsterdam, Utrecht or Leiden, as in the case of Descartes or Hobbes. In that period, Holland was considered the land of nonconformity par excellence and freedom of thought. And it was also the place where the first "national economic miracle" of the history of capitalism took place.

C. use the factors of production less efficiently.

The best way to measure public opinion is through opinion polls - B

With opinion polls you get an idea what is the general idea about a certain topic from the public, as you usually get a high enough sample to deduce the relevant information.

To answer your second question I would say it is either B or C as being a sole proprietor usually makes you subjec to being a small business or you're forced to use factors of production less efficiently.

When can a proposed legislation (bills) be defeated by opponents?a. when the bill is being considered by the subcommittee
b. when the bill is being voted on by the full committee
c. when the bill reaches the floor
d. all of the above

Answers

A proposed piece of legislation (bill) can be defeated by opponents when "all of the above" take place, since it's possible for the bill to never reach the committee.

Answer:

d. all of the above

Explanation:

Opponents can defeat a proposed legislation in the subcomitee, when is being voted by the full comitee and when the bill reaches the floor, it all dependes on the political strength that oppositon has, there are times when opposition can do anything to defeat a bill cause the sole numbers of one party allows them to pass a bill without having to convince factions of the other party, but this is rarely the case.
