Propaganda is similar to advertising in the way that it employs the same multimedia formats in order to spread a message. But, unlike advertising, propaganda does not try to encourage the sale of a product, service or idea.

They are both considered metaphors, yes. The light of my life means the happiest thing that you have ever known. It's kind of an exaggeration, but it's metaphor.
Roller coaster of emotions means that your mood swings up and down and all around like a roller coaster. A metaphor can be as a figure of speech which a writer uses to compare two different things that have something in common.
For example, a lady can be compared to how important the sun is to a sky. A lady and a sun are different. She is important to a man as the sun is important and gives radiance to the sky.
Another example is the comparison of life as being a roller coaster. In both examples, metaphor was used in directly referring to one thing by making mention of another.
Therefore, the two examples of metaphors are She is the sun of my sky and Life is a roller coaster.
