How does madison argue that large republic is more conductive to liberty than a small one?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Madison argue that large republic is more conductive to liberty than a small one by believing that a strong, united republic would be better able to guard against those. On the other hand, he thought that in order to limit the damage caused by faction, Liberty should be destroyed -- in which would work because "liberty is to faction what air is to fire"

Which is a precept of monotheism? a. Meditation is necessary to achieve harmony with God. b. A supreme god fights against evil in the world. c. Followers must obey proper dietary and moral principles. d. Believers must live sparingly and modestly to honor God.

Answers

A - I don't think so. Meditation is necessary to achieve harmony with ourselves and/or the Universe (may be understood as God itself), but it's not crucial part of monotheism.

B - May be, but it's not always like that. Like in Christianity - there's a supreme god, but he doesn't fight against evil. Indeed he can get angry and punish people for the evil they make (the Great Flood is the greatest symbol of that)

C - It's common for nearly all religions as it helps keep people's faith under control, but still I don't think it's crucial for monotheism

D - Definitely yes - if there's one god, people should live in peace with him and do everything they can to make him happy.

So I'd rather pick only one answer - D.

How did the crusades contribute to the end of Europes medieval period

Answers

Fourth Crusade took out Eastern Roman Empire capital in 1204. With the Crusaders forming the Latin Empire in its place and pushing the Eastern Roman Empire into several kingdoms. It made the Greeks easy targets for the invading muslims. The empire however eventually reformed although it was considerably weaker. It eventually fell once again to the invading muslims using Hungarian weapons in 1453 thus marking the end of the middle ages. That and the muslims constantly stole the Roman Empire's technology and culture and claimed it for its own.
The Crsades brought large numbers of important Europeans into close and prolonged contact with the far more sophisticated Byzantine and Muslim civilizations of the Near East.Knowledge gained from this contact - in particular of Classical Greek and Roman texts long since lost or forgotten in Western Europe - was transmitted back to Europe and eventually helped start the Renaissance
