Which sentence is a run-on sentence? A. The cheetah is the fastest land animal; the sailfish is the fastest animal in water. B. A professional marathon runner can run 26 miles in just over two hours. C. The gazelle can only run about half as fast as the cheetah. D. Snails move very slowly, a banana slug can move 6 inches in two hours.

The run on sentence is D. Snails move very slowly, a banana slug can move 6 inches in two hours.

A run-on sentence is a sentence that has at least two independent clauses which are not properly punctuated.

When two independent clauses are connected only by a comma, it is a run-on sentence that is called a comma-splice.

Run-on sentences can be corrected with the use of conjunctions (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so)

Snails move very slowly, and a banana slug can move 6 inches in two hours. (corrected run-on sentence)
the answer is D. Snails move very slowly, a banana slug can move 6 inches in two hours

With adversity comes a loss of faith in oneself and in humanity.Which supporting detail from Night by Elie Wiesel reflects the above theme best?
“Never shall I forget those flames that consumed my faith forever.”
“A dozen or so Gypsies had come to join our guard.”
“I thought: This is what the antechamber of hell must look like.”
“Freed from the barbers’ clutches, we began to wander about the crowd

Answers

Answer:

The correct answer is “Never shall I forget those flames that consumed my faith forever.”

Explanation:

This excerpt comes from Elie Wiesel's Night book. Here he relates the horrors experienced during the holocaust. "Never shall I forget those flames that consumed my faith forever" speaks of the flames where the Jews were cremated and that is exactly what made him lose faith.

He lost that faith not only in himself, but also in humanity, because it is inconceivable that there have been people who could do these atrocities against other people just for having a different religion.

Given this information we can say that the correct answer is Never shall I forget those flames that consumed my faith forever.

Never shall I forget those flames that consumed my faith forever.”

Who were the radleys? describe their house and yard

Answers

The Radleys are one of the families in the novel 'To kill a mockingbird'. Throughout the book, they are portrayed as a mysterious family because of rumours that are circulating the town. The main issue is caused by the son, Boo Radley, being locked away I see. This means that the people of Maycomb automatically assume he is bad.

Also, the Radley yard can be seen as, creepy, mysterious and run down. From Scout and Jems dares to go and touch the yard, you can see how reluctant the children are to go near it. This creates the impression that people are afraid of the unknown and that they find mysterious characters a bad and evil person.
The Radleys were a "crazy" family. There house was cracked and ran down it was covered in plants and other things. The yard was dirt with weeds coming from the ground. Too the kids the house was creepy and they did not want to go near it. I hope this helps!
