Please help! The area of a rectangle is 240 square meters. Find the length and the width of the rectangle, if the length is 8 meters longer than the width.

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Let the width=x mtr

So the length will be x+8 mtr

so the are of the rectangle will be=x(x+8)=240

x²+8x=240

x²+8x-240=0

x²+20x-12x-240=0

x(x+20)-12(x+20)=0

(x+20)(x-12)=0

x-12=0 i.e x=12 mtr

so the length=12+8=20 mtr

Answer 2
Answer: Length :20m Width: 12m

the sale price of a pair of pants is 65% of te regular price of $25. How much so you save by buying the pants on sale?

Answers

Answer: $8.75

Step-by-step explanation:

The sale price is 65% the regular price which is at $25.

Sale price = 65/100 * $25 = $16.25

Money saved = regular price - sale price

Money saved = $25 - $16.25

Money saved = $8.75

$25 times 0.65 = $16.25 & then you do $25 - $16.25 which equals $8.75. So you save $8.75 by buying the pants on sale.
