Describe the physical state of matter in the asthenosphere

Answers

The asthenosphere consists of many varieties of rock - mostly in a semi-molten condition. The temperatures reach levels high enough for most of the rock to turn soft and almost plastic-like. This soft, malleable (vocab word!) layer supports the lithosphere - consequently creating earthquakes when the plates above it shift. Just imagine a few pieces of play-do on top of a thing of slime (like the type you would get at a carnival). If you moved even one of the play-do pieces, it would move and push into another one of the "plates" - therefore creating an earthquake. (That's a whole different lesson, so I won't go into that.) I hope this answered your question fully!

If you were going to buy a car, would you buy a electric or gasoline powered car? why or why not

Answers

i would buy electric because it is cheaper and safer for the earth:)
I would buy an electric powered car. Gasoline is more expensive, since the price goes up and down constantly. Electricity is always the same amount of money. It is easy to charge especially if you get a electric car that when charged runs all day. You also use plenty of electricity every day anyway. Computers, chargers, hair products, stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator. This may raise it slightly but, it would be convenient. The only thing that I can say that is inconvenient about an electric car is that if you have a scheduled power outage or the power goes out, how are you to charge your car? That is when a gasoline powered car comes in handy.

What are some technological advancements of poisonous gas in world war one

Answers

Poison gas was used by both sides with devastating results (well, sometimes) during the Great War. The Germans pioneered the large-scale use of chemical weapons with a gas attack on Russian positions on January 31, 1915, during the Battle of Bolimov, but low temperatures froze the poison (xylyl bromide) in the shells. The first successful use of chemical weapons occurred on April 22, 1915, near Ypres, when the Germans sprayed chlorine gas from large cylinders towards trenches held by French colonial troops. The defenders fled, but typically for the First World War, this didn’t yield a decisive result: the Germans were slow to follow up with infantry attacks, the gas dissipated, and the Allied defenses were restored. Before long, of course, the Allies were using poison gas too, and over the course of the war both sides resorted to increasingly insidious compounds to beat gas masks, another new invention; thus the overall result was a huge increase in misery for not much change in the strategic situation (a recurring theme of the war).
