Paul, Colin and Brian are waiters. One night the restaurant earns tips totalling £77.40.
They share the tips in the ratio 1:3:5.
How much more does Brian get over Paul?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: You have to add the ratio, which is 1:3:5 and 1+3+5= 9. Then you must do £77.40 divided by 9. This gives you £8.6. So 1 part is £8.60, also how much Paul got. To find out Brian, you must do 5 multiplied by £8.60 which gives you £43. Then, to get the difference, you must do £43 take away £8.60, giving you £34.40. Your final answer will be £34.40. I hope this helped!

Read the excerpt from "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge." Then all at once, with terrible suddenness, the light about him shot upward with the noise of a loud splash; a frightful roaring was in his ears, and all was cold and dark. The power of thought was restored; he knew that the rope had broken and he had fallen into the stream. There was no additional strangulation; the noose about his neck was already suffocating him and kept the water from his lungs. To die of hanging at the bottom of a river!—the idea seemed to him ludicrous. He opened his eyes in the darkness and saw above him a gleam of light, but how distant, how inaccessible! He was still sinking, for the light became fainter and fainter until it was a mere glimmer. Then it began to grow and brighten, and he knew that he was rising toward the surface—knew it with reluctance, for he was now very comfortable. “To be hanged and drowned,” he thought? “that is not so bad; but I do not wish to be shot. An employee makes an hourly rate plus any tips they earn. This tip employee made a total of $400 by working 28 hours last week. If $253 of their total earnings was their tips, what is their hourly rate of pay?

Answers

To find the answer we must remove the tips amount from the total amount, and then divide what remains by the numbers of hours he worked. So we have: HourlyRate = (400 - 253) / 28 <=> HourlyRate = 147/28 <=> HourlyRate = $5.25

Answer:

A is the answer on Edgen.

Step-by-step explanation:

Each time Jenny presses the tab key on the keyboard, the software reflects the logo she is designing across the x axis. Her cat steps on the tab key 25 times. In which quadrant does the logo end up. Explain. So that's all there is sorry if it's not clear but's its word for word

Answers

lol where do teachers find these types of problems XD
all jokes aside, let me explain.
so quadrants are numbered like this:
Top right:1
top left:2
bottom left:3
bottom right:4

and when you reflect something across an axis, it ends up in the quadrant opposite what it was in before. so If the logo is in quadrant 1 its first reflection will end up in quadrant 4.  repeat and it will end up in quadrant one again. in  other words if the number of times the tab key is hit is even, it will stay in the same quadrant. If it is odd it will end up in the quadrant opposite it. Since no quadrant number is given in the question we must assume that it just wants us to say whether it stays in the same quadrant or the one opposite it. In this case, because of what I said before, it would be in whatever quadrant was opposite the one it started in. Very badly worded question, but this is the only answer possible. Hope this helped! :) If you are still confused than just comment and I will try to help you out more.

Which fraction converts to a terminating decimal number?a.) 1/6
b.) 2/9
c.) 3/8
d.) 4/7

Answers

Answer:  The correct option is (C) (3)/(8).

Step-by-step explanation:  We are given to select the fraction that converts to a terminating decimal number.

(a) The first fraction is (1)/(6).

We have

(1)/(6)=0.16666...

Since this decimal is non-terminating, so this option is NOT correct.

(b) The second fraction is (2)/(9).

We have

(2)/(9)=0.2222...

Since this fraction is non-terminating, so this option is NOT correct.

(c) The second fraction is(3)/(8).

We have

(2)/(9)=0.375.

Since this fraction is terminating, so this option is CORRECT.

(d) The second fraction is (4)/(7).

We have

(4)/(7)=0.5714...

Since this fraction is non-terminating, so this option is NOT correct.

Thus, option (C) is CORRECT.

terminating decimal...a decimal that ends
1/6 = 1.66 (with a line over the 66 because it does not end)
2/9 = 0.22 (with a line over the 22 because it does not end)
3/8 = 0.375
4/7 = 0.571428 (with a line over 571428 because it does not end)

so ur answer is : 3/8

when the whole is the same, how many eights does it take to make 1 fourth? draw a model to support your answer

Answers

2/8. 2/8 can be simplified to 1/4 if you divide by 2 in both the numerator and the denominator. Draw two pies. Make one pie cut into 8 even pieces and one cut into 4. Shade in two of the slices on the pie with 8 pieces (side by side) and shade in one on the pie that's cut into four slices (in the same spot as on the other pie). You should see how you shaded the same total area of each pie.
